ECLIPSE SEASON: WHY IT ROCKS
Despite it's potential to be overwhelming or chaotic, I love eclipse season because it carries a trickster spirit, everything gets inverted: outward Sun revelations are turned in, inside Moon revelations are turned out. This exchange of polarities allow for concealed truths to slip through the cracks of our habitual behavior. What once was overlooked, now confronts us head-on, asking for release or change.
In many ways, eclipses yearn for a redistribution of power. Every other time of the year, the Sun or the king, the ego has the authority to dictate whether an inner planet is visible or invisible in the sky. But during eclipses, the Sun's domineering light gets cock-blocked by the Earth or the Moon. Finally the prevalent ego-perspective gets out of the way and we are able to glimpse at hidden aspects of our patterns.
Another important clue as to why eclipses are cool, is that they are only possible because of the moon's nodes, which are points in the sky that represent the magnetic pull of our soul's mission (ie: look to the placement of the nodes in your own astrology chart and you will see the evolutionary through-line of your life).
I suspect this is why eclipse season can feel so intense, our soul's mission does not suffer fools...it knows where it is going. When we enter it's portal, time feels sped up, it pulls us into its creative direction and we are challenged to transmute what's impeding its progress. Sometimes this is super exciting, other times - deeply uncomfortable and destabilizing.
All this is to say, trust in whatever is turning over in your life right now.
This eclipse season is especially unique because it began a new Pisces cycle on Sept 17th, and will end a Libra one on Oct 2nd - so this month is extra transitional, chapters closing and opening. The last time we had eclipses shift into Pisces/Virgo was March 2015-Feb 2017. What life decisions and events transpired then ? The next year and a half may rhyme.
Eclipse insights don't necessarily need immediate action, there is a longer cycle at play here. I invite you to give yourself space to settle into what's emerging, take it easy as we learn to let go of the past and honor what yearns to come next.
